-
Why should I choose Truvani Probiotics over other brands?
We take a balanced approach to our probiotics. We don’t use cheap filler probiotics to boost the CFU count and ensure you get a quality amount from each of the 15 strains.
-
Is your CFU count at the time of manufacturing or expiration?
It’s at the time of manufacturing.
-
How many capsules do I get in each bottle?
30 daily servings...a one month’s supply.
-
How do I take Truvani’s Plant-Based Probiotics?
Take one capsule daily with food.
-
Does it need to be refrigerated? Can you explain the deal with refrigeration/shelf-stable?
No, but we recommend refrigeration whenever possible. Refrigerating will extend the life of the strains. You can always keep it in the fridge, and store your daily recommended dose in your bag to take later as needed.
-
Is it vegan?
Yep! Zero animal products or byproducts, unlike other probiotics formulas you might run into.
-
Is it cruelty-free?
Yes. Our manufacturing facility does not test any finished products on animals.
-
Is it tested for heavy metals and other contaminants?
Yes. We rigorously third-party test every single product for purity and potency before it even enters our facility, then again for traces of mercury, lead, cadmium, arsenic, and glyphosate.
-
Why is Plant-Based Probiotics in capsule form and not tablet?
Tablets tend to lose integrity and degrade probiotic strains during the manufacturing process. We chose capsule to ensure less probiotic strains die off while the product is being made.
-
When should I take my capsule? Is it a delay release?
We recommend taking it in the morning before or with breakfast. It is not delayed release.
-
Can't I just get enough probiotics from food?
Beneficial microbes are found in fermented foods and supplements. We recommend eating fermented foods such as yogurt, kimchi, and kombucha, along with a daily probiotics supplement.
-
Why did you go with a cellulose capsule?
In order to best protect the quality of our probiotics powder, we needed to use a capsule. We wanted it to be plant based, so we had 2 options - cellulose or pullulan. Pullulan contains other additives, like carrageenan that we do not agree with putting in our products.
-

-
What is the country of origin?
All Plant-Based Probiotics ingredients are sourced in the USA.
-
Why is this product not USDA Organic?
Probiotics on their own are not a certifiable product by USDA. When you see a probiotics product that is certified organic, it is telling you that 95%+ of that product are things other than probiotics...like prebiotics and those “other ingredients”.
-

Do your probiotics survive in the stomach acid?
The exact pH of your stomach acid changes continuously, depending on whether you've had anything to eat or drink and what you've had to eat or drink. It also depends on the time of day.
We recommend taking our probiotics with breakfast each day, as stomach acid is the most accommodating ph at that time. Taking your probiotics supplements at this time of day offers you the highest chance of bacteria survival and the greatest health benefits from the product.
Some things to consider about enteric coating and time-release technology:
Some probiotics manufacturers use a type of time-release technology thought to protect their bacteria from the low pH in the stomach. It isn't necessary if the strains themselves display excellent natural survivability in acid conditions.
The enteric coating can also help probiotics to survive moving through a harsh stomach environment. However, an enteric coating can involve synthetic chemicals, and some critics question whether the capsules eventually break down in the lower GI tract or pass through the intestines intact with their beneficial probiotics.
Enteric coating and time-release technology do not meet our strict standards. Therefore, we use hardy strains of bacteria that do not require other types of 'manufactured' protection to survive transit through the stomach.
