How Plant-Based Omega can support your health.

Why DHA?

DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) is vital for normal healthy brain function, and is beneficial to overall health and wellness.*

Humans are great at a lot of things. But we aren’t so great at making DHA on our own.

That’s why we need a little help from our food.

However, oilseed-based sources of omega-3 such as flaxseed or hemp seed don’t convert to DHA as readily as we need it to be.*

And many marine sources of DHA are not responsibly sourced since they are harvested from the ocean, which depletes the ocean’s natural ecosystem and energy for larger marine life.

Plus, they aren’t vegetarian-friendly or plant-forward.

And don’t even get us started on all the pollutants such as pesticides and microplastics that may be present in some DHA sources.

At Truvani, we always like to cut to the source whenever possible. As responsibly as possible.

Can’t we get enough Omega-3 from food?

Fish and other seafood are the primary food source of omega-3.

Even if you eat fish several times per week, it may be farm-raised and lack the nutrients found in fish harvested from the ocean.

Plus, there is a rising concern about environmental toxins found in fish and seafood, and the impact fish and krill harvesting has on the ocean.

So, why didn’t we create a fish oil or krill oil supplement?
